Ayagya is an incomparable benefaction. Ayagya is the unsurpassable ordination.
Yagya is considered as a mark of the Indian culture. Hence, yagya occupies an eminent position on auspicious occasions. From the dawn till the dusk of life, ayagya is the sail that takes the soul on a journey towards home. Vedas glorifyyagyas and announce that nothing exists in the Universe, but yagya. From the ancient times till the modern age various small-scale to monumental yagyas are being performed by people with the varied objectives like world conquest, harmonyin the Universe and Universal brotherhood. The word yagyais derived from yaj. All the transcendent karmas are called yagya. A yagyais also commonly known as agnihotra, homa, havan and adhvara.

यज्ञो वै श्रेष्ठतरं कर्म।

In ancient times, the pieces of land that have witnessed the magnificent and stupendous yagyas in the presence of the deities, have emerged as the famous places of pilgrimage for the people from all walks of life. A few like Kashi, Rameshvaram and Prayag hold a prestigious position among the rest.Yagya symbolises grandeur, bliss and prosperity. It is also the device to attain salvation.

After being satisfied by the religious sacrifice, the gods will grant you all the desired necessities to perform your duties.

यज्ञ के समान और कोई दान नहीं। यज्ञ के समान और कोई विधान नहीं।

यज्ञ को भारतीय संस्कृति का प्रतीक माना गया है। इसलिए किसी भी शुभ और मांगलिक कार्यों के अवसर पर यज्ञ का विधान बतलाया गया है। जन्म से लेकर परलोक गमन तक की जीवन की यात्रा में यज्ञ का समावेश किया गया है। वेदों में कहा गया है कि इस ब्रह्मांड में यज्ञ के अलावा कुछ नहीं है और यज्ञ स्वयं देवस्वरूप है। पौराणिक काल से लेकर आधुनिक काल तक शु्द्धिकरण और विश्वशांति के लिए लघु से लेकर विराट यज्ञों का आयोजन किया जाता रहा है। इस तरह के यज्ञों के जरिए कभी विश्व विजय तो कभी समरसता और विश्व बंधुत्व का संदेश दिया गया। यज्ञ शब्द यज धातु से बना है। ब्रह्माण्ड के सभी श्रेष्ठकर्मों को यज्ञ कहा जाता है। यज्ञ को सामान्य भाषा में अग्निहोत्र, होम, हवन और अध्वर भी कहा जाता है।
